Reasons can vary from business to business. As is not our case, even can vary household to household. Although we do not focus on residential cleaning except for move in, move out cleanings we do have an emphasis on doing things right and taking pride in our work. As do many companies in our industry. We're here to help grow the total pie and hopefully convince you that hiring a cleaning service is 9 times out of 10 the right decision for you (don't worry we will cover that 1 time soon).

  1. Reason number one is so obvious I almost feel bad for saying it. It saves you time. My wife, Mikayla, Co-Owner of Twin State Cleaning with me, and I started this business in large part because of our entrepreneurial spirit. We came back to Duluth, MN area to be around family as we welcomed our first born child. Little did we know we would have a second one September 2023. We understand that time is your most valuable resource that is always fleeing away. Our goal is to help you capture some time back so that you can focus on the things that matter, growing your business.

  2. Hire a partner not an employee. Some will say that having your employees do it is more efficient. Depending on your industry, that may be a fair assessment from a cost standpoint alone. However, that isn't their specialty. Their specialty is what you've trained them to do for your clients. We specialize in keeping our employees happy doing what they're doing. Take a little of yours plates and prevent the burnout.

  3. Access to top of the line equipment. Our suppliers are well equipped machines. We use only the top of the line equipment and methods to get the job done. We make the upfront investment so that you don't have to.

  4. Access to top of the line disinfectants. Medical, Office, and retail all have something in common. People. Humans get sick, we help protect against that by using only the best disinfectants on the market so that our clients space is ready to handle the busiest of days.

  5. Guaranteed work. I refuse to say anything bad about the competition. Truth is, there are great contractors in the Duluth/Superior Area. However, if you ask me to point you to a company I will only ever recommend someone that I know takes pride and guarantees their work. Next time you search "cleaning company near me" you'll see the extensive list. A lot of them are residential while we focus on commercial aspects. We are a commercial cleaning company in the Duluth/Superior area after all.

  6. Specialist. Capitalism right? It's a fantastic system and has afforded us all wonderful opportunities. It has also created the specialist market. We've already put the time in honing our skills. This makes us better equipped than most to handle your business needs.

  7. Reputation. Almost all of the small businesses in our local industry have a good reputation. Although relatively new and still building ours and gaining your trust in us we do have significant experience. I worked for a reputable company as a child, my parents were both entrepreneurs and I spent time scrubbing toilets since I can remember. With over 15-years of experience in this industry we hope to keep building that reputation for the long haul.

  8. Make sure your cleaning company has stability. Ask for references before signing with them. Make sure they can handle the job. Make sure they're willing to go the extra mile themselves if their human capital falls through. Ask yourself, if they hire a new person in my space, will it still be done right? Will they make sure the employee is trained properly? Things to keep in mind!

  9. Hire a local company. Whether it is us or one of our competitors in the space I recommend always hiring someone local. At the very least regional. Generally speaking, they have a family approach to their work and take immense pride in it. Something that makes us special is my experience in the corporate world. I spent 7 years working for large corporations to study their structure and processes to learn and apply those to my own company today.

  10. Ask about a mistake they made. One thing that not many, especially people in sales, will admit is a mistake that they have made. Something that is good to know is that your contractor is human. They will make a mistake, but how will they act in that mistake and how will they learn from it and fix any situation to make sure your business is not affected by it.

As promised those are 10 things to look for. There is one more thing I wanted to touch on. When is it the wrong time to hire a contractor? There are a few reasons for this that I will get into in the next blog post. So stay tuned!
